What are the basic steps behind hair inhibitors?

1- Using common methods of hair removal such as: tweezing, waxing or sugaring will result in exposing the hair follicle's pore. Shaving, another common method of hair removal, will only cut or trim the hair but will not physically remove the entire hair (shaft and follicle) from the skin. Removing the entire hair is key and is the recommended method for the best results.

2- Once the entire hair is extracted, massage the hair inhibitor thoroughly into the skin to allow it to penetrate and line the follicle wall. Once absorbed into the pore and follicle wall the hair inhibitor will begin to interfere with the regeneration of new hair growth.

3- Most hair inhibitors contain naturally occurring sulfur reducers which have been formulated to penetrate the follicle and safely interfere with hair's ability to regenerate at the root. Over time, hair is permanently inhibited from ever growing back.

**Do not expect permanent effects when a hair inhibitor is used after shaving. The result after a combination of shaving and using a hair inhibitor generally is a slower rate of hair growth and weaker finer hair.

What is a sulfur reducer?

Sulfur reducers, used in hair inhibitors, are organic compounds which prevent the formation of basic sulfur linkages. Because sulfur is a necessary compound involved in hair growth, by preventing the formation of sulfur linkages hair growth is also inhibited.

Can men use hair inhibitors? or are they only for women?

Hair inhibitors should work equally as well for men as for women and can be used on any body part including the bikini line.

Should I worry about a sensitive skin or allergic reaction?

If a hair inhibitor is to be applied to a sensitive part of skin please test it on a less sensitive part of the skin first to be sure there is no irritation or skin allergy.

Will hair inhibitors work after shaving?

Some retarding of hair growth and weakening of the hair will be noticeable when a hair inhibitor is used regularly after shaving.

However, hair inhibitors work best when the hair has been physically epilated through waxing, tweezing, sugaring, etc. These methods remove the hair from the follicle-pore, allowing the hair inhibitors to penetrate the recently exposed follicle-pore and inhibit the hair at the growth stages.

Do results vary on different body parts?

Yes. A hair inhibitor is most effective when hair is thin and weak, such as facial hair on women. If the hair is medium or coarse in strength and thickness, the hair inhibitor generally takes longer to work.

Will a hair inhibitor's effects be permanent?

This depends on a few factors:

If the hair inhibitor is used as directed after each physical hair removal session, such as waxing or tweezing, the hair eventually will not grow back.

If the hair inhibitor is used as directed after each shaving session and no hair is physically removed, the hair will grow back but more slowly and will become weaker and finer over time.
